Development of Zenos Stadium, and all of our game twin projects, are on indefinite hold. After years of building the world's first virtual esports stadium, from our early days as Virtex through our Counter-Strike closed beta, watch parties and everything in between, we're drawing a line under this chapter for now.
Stadium was powered by our game twin technology: live recreations of real matches, rebuilt play by play inside a virtual venue. We spent an enormous amount of time, energy and resources building it, and we're sad it never truly had its opportunity in the limelight. Changes in the market, and the commercial incentives facing IP holders, mean game twins now occupy a difficult position in the value chain. The landscape today is very different from when we started.
That's especially frustrating because the technology was there. We believe we eventually perfected the game twin model, and of everything we've done, Stadium is what this team is proudest of.
Stadium is why Zenos exists. Should the right opportunity arise, we would love nothing more than to open its doors again.
This isn't the end of Zenos. We've redirected our focus to a new area built on our years of experience working with complex game data, more behind the scenes, working directly with game developers. You can follow what we're up to at zenosinteractive.com and on LinkedIn.
Thank you for following us, supporting us and believing in what we were trying to build.
